Mr. Evgeniy E. TEREKHIN

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 134, dated March 27, 2019, Mr. Evgeny Terekhin was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. 

Date of birth: 1958

Graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1981. Fluent in Amharic, English and French. Holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (February 9, 2023).

In the diplomatic service since 1981. Worked at different positions in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and abroad.

2000-2002 - Head of Divison, the Fourth CIS (Commonwealth  of Independent States) Department

2002-2006 - Minister-Counsellor, Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ethiopia

2006-2010 - Principal Counsellor of the Department for Relations with Compatriots Abroad

2010-2015 - Minister-Counsellor, Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kirgizia

2015 - 2019 - Deputy Director of the Third CIS (Commonwealth  of Independent States) Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation
